Giving my Tithe
We give because God gave first.
Leviticus 27:30 – ” And all the tithe of the land, whether of the seed of the land or of the fruit of the tree, is the LORD’s. It is holy to the LORD.”
2 Corinthians 9:7 – “So let each one give as he purposes in his heart, not grudgingly or of necessity; for God loves a cheerful giver.”
What tithes are used for:
Tithing is used by the Church for many purposes. Some of these are to:
- Build and maintain the Church buildings, grounds and equipment.
- Pay for overhead / administration costs like wages, utilities and supplies.
- Help with ministry and community work.
- Print and distribute lesson materials.
Offering beyond the Tithe
An offering is anything given beyond your 10% tithe, but not in place of the tithe.
An offering can be given in cash, but also in the form of non-cash donations or giving of your time or talents.
