Food Parcel Project

Coming together in a time of crisis to support our community.
Due to the COVID-19 pandemic and the subsequent lockdown, many families in our community will see their income reduced and some will not be able to earn an income at all because they can not leave their homes.

For this reason, Living Word Hibiscus Coast has started a relief parcel project. Our relief parcels contain basic groceries to help these vulnerable individuals during this difficult period.

We call on you, individuals and businesses, to aid this humanitarian effort by making a monetary or grocery donation.

If you have any questions about this project or wish to make a corporate donation, please contact Rachel on 079 043 0134. View our Essential Service Certificate.

Grocery Donation

We try to provide our beneficiaries with a variety of basic foods and products to help them during this difficult period. We have posted a list of the basic parcels products, but you are welcome to add anything extra that you think can be useful to our beneficiaries.

We also have a Wish List of special items needed for the project of a specific household (examples: diapers, blankets, feminine hygiene products, etc.). Community members in need are welcome to submit a request for our Wish List.

Drop-off Times:

Grocery donations can be dropped off at our premises (Old Saint Faiths Road, Umtentweni) at the following times:

  • Wednesdays: 14:00 to 14:30
  • Fridays: 14:00 to 14:30

For everyone’s safety, please remember to sanitize you hands when handling parcel items and maintain you social distance when dropping off your parcel goods.

This project has just been launched and our resources are currently very limited. As the project grows we hope to expand our efforts and be able to serve more people from our neighboring communities.

At present we are focusing on people in dire need in our local community: Umtentweni, Sea Park, Southport, Anerly and Port Shepstone.

Parcel Pick-ups:

Mondays from 10:00 to 11:00 at our premises  (Old Saint Faiths Road, Umtentweni).

Parcels are handed out on a first-come-first-served basis.

For record purposes, beneficiaries are required to sign our register before receiving a parcel.

For your safety and ours, please remember to maintain you social distance when picking up your parcel.

We would be immensely grateful for the following basic products for our parcels:

  • Pasta / Rice
  • Mielie Meal
  • Soup Powder
  • Soya Mince
